National Preparedness Month - The National Preparedness Month sponsored by FEMA is designed at working to ensure our communities are prepared for disasters and emergencies of all kinds. October is fire prevention month and the week of October 9 – 15 is Fire Prevention Week. According to the National Archives, Fire Prevention Week (which was established in 1922) is the longest running public health and safety observance on record.
